Strength - 5/5

In the sacred wisdom of the Huni Kuin - the “True People” of the Amazon—there lies a ceremonial blend crafted to draw out darkness and realign the spirit: Tsunu Anu Buna Rapé. The name reveals its purpose: Tsunu, the ash of Pao Pereira (Platycyamus regnellii); Anu Buna, a crown of protective herbs. Together, this medicine balances heart-opening with spirited protection.

Tsunu is one of the most revered and ancient ashes used in Hapé, with a lineage tracing back centuries. As the bark of the Pao Pereira tree is gently burned to ash, it transforms into a potent catalyst for cleansing - clearing mental fog, reorganising emotional patterns, and opening the third-eye chakra to spiritual insight. Within Huni Kuin lore, Tsunu Rapé is a “profound recalibration on mental, emotional, and spiritual levels,” renowned for releasing internal imbalances and guiding the user toward clarity .

Anu Buna completes the medicine matrix with precision. This sacred plant - a staple in traditional banhos and smudging - functions as a shield, fortifying the energetic boundary while fostering heart alignment. Known to harmonise spirit and mind, its fragrant essence is described as the medicine that “leads and protects” on any journey, whether through dense rainforest or within urban streets.

Their union in Tsunu Anu Buna Rapé forms a multi-dimensional shamanic tool - one that clears with gentleness, protects with strength, and expands with clarity. This blend is methodically crafted in Huni Kuin villages, layered with kunu (sacred ceremonial songs) that invoke the ancestral guides and imbue the medicine with intention. It surfaces as neither timid nor overwhelming - it is seasoned medicine, fit for both beginners and seasoned practitioners seeking mindful renewal.

Physical & Energetic Benefits

Mind-Body Harmony

Tsunu ash penetrates deep-seated thought patterns and emotional blockages, enabling the mind to settle and the heart to open. This internal realignment often coincides with relief from mental fatigue and sinus tension.

Energetic Shielding & Grounding

Anu Buna brings protective resonance that balances upper chakra activation with grounded roots, reinforcing boundaries and creating a field of psychic resilience.

Third-Eye Activation & Insight

Known to open the ajna chakra, Tsunu empowers visionary states while Anu Buna ensures clarity, not chaos - as consciousness expands.

Spiritual Clearing & Integration

Ideal for ceremony support - before Ayahuasca, Kambo, or integration sessions - this Rapé dissolves lingering energetic debris, laying a clean foundation for deeper connection.

Suggested Usage & Ritual Guidance:
For best results, use Tsunu Anu Buna Rapé within a ceremonial or meditative setting, always approaching with respect and clear intention. Administer gently using a Handcrafted Amazonian Kuripe Self-Applicator for personal use or a traditional Tepi pipe if serving others. Begin with a modest quantity, gently blowing into each nostril. Allow the blend to settle calmly, breathing deeply and slowly. Sit quietly, focusing on your spiritual intention, and welcome the medicine’s powerful guidance. Ideal for regular ceremonial practice or occasional spiritual cleansing, Tsunu Anu Buna Rapé harmoniously supports meditation, mindfulness, and personal growth journeys.

Usage and Rituals

The Rapé is blown first through the left nostril and then the right, the life and death cycle.

  • Put a small amount of Rapé on the palm of your hand.
  • Connect to the medicine through the heart, and feel your intentions.
  • Fill the pipe (Kuripe) through the longer tube.
  • Position the Kuripe: take a deep breath through the mouth and hold.
  • Place the longer end of the Kuripe into the left nostril and the other end into the mouth.
  • Blow inside the Kuripe pipe with intention.
  • Repeat for the right nostril.

Now close your eyes and enjoy your meditation.

Once applied, breathe only from the mouth to prevent the powder from going into the throat. After at least 10 minutes you can blow and clean your nose.

Rapé must be blown into both nostrils. Each nostril represents an energetic current of the body:

The left nostril: The channel of the Moon (receiver: Pingala or Yin). It gives the power of emotions in its pure state, providing the qualities of deep joy, pure love, compassion and artistic abilities. This side is the feminine. The imbalances on this side are emotional attachment, depression, low self-esteem, guilt or laziness.

The right side: The channel of the Sun (emitter: Ida or Yang). It would empower the rational mind, which allows learning and gaining the strength to overcome problems through effort. It is the masculine side. The imbalances of this channel are rigidity, arrogance, excessive strength and pride.”

Storage

Rapé snuff can remain potent for years when kept in a cool, dry, and dark location. To maintain its quality, ensure your rapé is tightly sealed and protected from any form of moisture. It is not recommended to store rapé in the refrigerator as condensation may form inside the container upon removal.
